Preparation for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist
Reconciliation
This sacrament of healing reconciles the sinner to God and the Church, Christ’s Body.
Holy Eucharist
Holy Eucharist is one of the sacraments of initiation into the Church. It is the source and summit of the Christian life. Through the Eucharist, we participate in our Lord’s total self-giving sacrifice to the Father. At the Eucharist, we give praise to the Father through the Son in the Holy Spirit and, in turn, we are sanctified by God. The Sunday celebration of the Eucharist is the center of the Church’s life.
Preparing a child for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist
To prepare a child for the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist, a child must be enrolled in the parish Faith Formation program or attend Catholic school for at least one year prior to and also during the year of preparation. The family is directly involved in preparing the child for the sacrament. Please visit this page often for the latest information on this year’s program and to register online.
