Now more than ever in these uncertain times, we need to come together as a church community to help others. Please prayerfully consider these opportunities:
BREAKING BREAD WITH THE HUNGRY WILL RESUME ON Friday, October 2, 2020
Dear Breaking Bread with the Hungry Family,
We are happy to announce that we have been given permission to re-start our Friday night dinners at St. Vincent de Paul Church on a grab-and-go basis. Our target start date is Friday, October 2nd. We anticipate providing a large lunch bag of food and bags of non-perishable groceries. (SEE INFORMATION ABOUT GRAB-AND-GO LUNCHES ON OUR SIGN-UP GENIUS PAGE)
Because we will be returning to our weekly dinners, we will no longer be collecting non-perishable food and toiletries for the Franciscan Center. The staff at the Franciscan Center has expressed their gratitude for the incredible generosity shown by Breaking Bread with the Hungry during the first 6 months of the pandemic, writing: “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! It has been an incredible ride these past 6 months and your efforts and contributions have made a tremendous impact on those we serve here at the Franciscan Center.” We will join with the Franciscan Center on future projects to support our neighbors living unsheltered and in poverty.
Casseroles for Our Daily Bread (ODB) will continue to be collected in the freezer at Our Lady of the Fields. We are also collecting sandwiches and casseroles for ODB on Friday, October 2 in the Pavilion from 9:30AM – 11AM. If you have any questions about the casserole collection, please contact Mary O’Malley at email@example.com.
