Food donations for those in need will still be accepted. Please place your donations of casseroles, sandwiches, lunch bags and other items in the coolers or baskets on the table outside of the rear kitchen door at the back of the building (near the pavilion). See details below: Our casserole ministry for Our Daily Bread continues in this time of pandemic. Our Daily Bread continues to serve a hot grab-and-go meal to the poor in Baltimore City and provides a grab-and-go lunch bag on weekends. Our Daily Bread needs casseroles, PB&J sandwiches, granola bars, and other lunch bag items.
Beginning Friday, April 10, we will deliver casseroles and sandwiches to Our Daily Bread every other Friday. Casseroles and sandwiches may be placed in the cooler outside the kitchen’s rear door on those Fridays by 11:30 am. Please try to bring your donations on Friday mornings (if possible) so that the perishable items are not left out.
St. Vincent de Paul Church in Baltimore is not able to host our Friday night dinner ministry during this time of pandemic. Our Breaking Bread With The Hungry ministry is now working with the Franciscan Center in Baltimore to assist the Center’s efforts to provide a hot meal to their clients. For this Friday, we are collecting pop-top canned goods. All donations that have been given for our Friday Night meal at St. Vincent de Paul Church are now directed to the Franciscan Center. Please bring these items to the back door of the kitchen.
With all of this change, we are facing many logistical challenges while also learning new ways of getting information to our parishioners…one of them being live video. We are in need of one or two talented individuals who are willing to help set-up, record and/or edit video during Holy Week. Details are still being planned, however, we will need someone who has experience with the Vimeo platform and livestreaming. If you can help, please email us as soon as possible and we can provide details. Of course, there will be very limited contact with others (as mandated by Gov. Hogan), but we would need you to be on-site at Our Lady of the Fields during Holy Week.
