Holy Eucharist
Holy Eucharist is one of the sacraments of initiation into the Church. It is the source and summit of the Christian life. Through the Eucharist, we participate in our Lord’s total self-giving sacrifice to the Father. At the Eucharist, we give praise to the Father through the Son in the Holy Spirit and, in turn, we are sanctified by God. The Sunday celebration of the Eucharist is the center of the Church’s life.
To prepare for the sacrament of the Eucharist, a child must be enrolled in the parish Faith Formation program or attend Catholic school for at least one year prior to and also during the year of preparation. The family is directly involved in preparing the child for the sacrament. Please visit our First Sacraments Page to register a child for First Reconciliation/First Eucharist preparation classes. Please contact the Office of Evangelization & Faith Formation at faithformation@olfparish.com or 410-923-6953 for more information on how to prepare to receive First Communion.
Adults who have not received the sacrament of First Holy Communion should contact faithformation@olfparish.com or 410-923-6953 for specific details and to explore our RCIA program.
